“A unique living area to be lived at any time and customized for us”
The living space of Casa² had to combine more functions, including the open-plan kitchen, while maintaining the style chosen by Architempore for the whole apartment.
White, blue and a charred wood floor are the common thread running through the rooms of Casa², the flat renovated by Violetta Breda with her Architempore studio to become her first home.
The living area is the widest expression of the project’s stylistic choices. This is where the main activities take place and the design can and must create spaces tailored to individual needs.
Here is the architect’s first-person narrative about the open-plan kitchen of Casa².
|| A multifunctional open space
The functions of the open space: a beautiful kitchen for me that I love to cook, a large table for when we invite friends to dinner and board games, a “gaming” area for my partner and the sofa to watch tv. There are many different activities that, however, had to be enclosed in a single room, a space to live the convivial moments and relax.
The trait d’union together with the colors are the furnishings: kitchen and library have been designed as a single piece of furniture and run along the walls seamlessly.
|| The kitchen corner
The kitchen is open, but it is more than just a “kitchenette”. When it is not working the look makes it a kitchen that does not look like a kitchen, linear and elegant like the other furnishings of the house.
On the technical side it has been designed for those who need to cook, so that they can fully enjoy it: a worktop in front of the window to look out and have natural light on the counter, two columns of appliances close to each other and a large single basin with a mixer and shower.
The top is made of sintered stone, a high-performance material similar to stoneware but with the beauty of natural stone, whose washbasin has been designed and built together with the top in total continuity with integrated drain, a detail that always distinguishes the bespoke projects of Architempore.
|| Choosing taps-ware for the sink
The basin taps are by Mina Inox, Three collection completely in AISI 316L steel, with a minimal and elegant line as Casa².
The needs in the selection phase were twofold: I was looking for a minimal and elegant sink group, but that was also convenient to use and easy to clean.
Three is a 3-hole tap, as the name suggests, with a shower and mixer separated from the main body and inserted into the top. This makes it a product with a more refined design than a more traditional choice, and at the same time extremely functional.
I do not hide that at the beginning the choice of finishes oscillated between brushed steel and baked inox finish, the latter an absolute novelty designed exclusively by Mina! In the end, the finish we have chosen is brushed steel (the same as that of the bathroom): a very classic finish, which adapts to the colors chosen for the palette of the house, without attracting undue attention to itself. This detail fits perfectly with the aesthetic need.
However, aesthetic side apart, functionality and practicality are the two keywords that distinguish this product, which consists of a gently arched tap, a mixer and a shower – the latter perfect to fill the pots with more ease and wash the dishes better.
For this project Violetta | Architempore has chosen:
As a 5 years old kid, she gets in a construction site and discovers what she wants to do in the future.
Graduated in Architecture at Milan’s Polytechnic before and at Venice’s IUAV then, she has been working in her family’s construction company since she was just a teenager, starting from the bottom: a fundamental experience for her training.
In 2016 she decides to combine her two great passions, architecture and digital marketing, and founds Architempore, a unique business-model based company, aimed at telling stories and transforming the living spaces with her projects and designs. In 2018 she is appointed by Elle Decor Italia as one of the most reputable influencers in her sector.
In 2021 she is elected as member of the board of ANCE Giovani Milano group.
