The Carroccera Collective’s project reimagines a new way of engaging with the landscape through a reversible, minimalist structure, in which MINA has created the stainless steel systems for water distribution.
Set amongst the woods of the Alto Monferrato, the first of the projects conceived by Carroccera Collective – a group of architects and designers with an international outlook – is taking shape.Â
The Missing Room is an open structure immersed in the landscape, designed to redefine the relationship between people, nature and the built environment.
A place suspended between architecture and contemporary ritual, where the essential nature of materials meets a design vision based on sustainability and respect for the local area, opening up reflection on new forms of social interaction.
MINA is participating in the project as a technical partner, fully sharing its values, approach and ethos.Â
The company has manufactured a number of stainless steel components designed for water distribution and collection, helping to shape an integrated system in which water becomes a living and precious resource.
The Missing Room presents itself as a space without walls or a roof, hidden amongst the vegetation of a former vineyard reclaimed by nature. At the centre of the structure stands a seven-metre-high monolith: a wood-burning fireplace, whose fire powers two ovens and heats water for domestic use.Â
The other key element is water itself, which flows through channels, basins and pools designed for cooking, washing, relaxing and even watering wild animals.
Every component is designed to promote resource management, reducing environmental impact to bring living back to its most essential and sensory dimension.
The choice of stainless steel as the primary material represents one of the most significant points of connection between MINA and the Collective: a durable, recyclable and weather-resistant material capable of delivering high performance in all conditions.
The project’s modular structure, secured to the ground using non-invasive screw piles, can be completely removed without leaving a trace, in line with a commitment to reversibility and respect for the ecosystem.
This is a philosophy that MINA has always embraced and which is reflected in its design ethos: attention to detail, high-quality construction, technical innovation and the use of stainless steel as a conscious and sustainable choice.
Contributing to The Missing Room therefore means supporting a new vision of architecture and domestic life.Â
It is an invitation to slow down, to experience time in a different way, and to rediscover a deeper connection with the environment through simple gestures, authentic materials and a shared vision of the future.
