The Corsivo collection is the protagonist of the second BHOME bathroom (we have already talked about the first one here): I was immediately struck by the distinctive design, the modern and clean lines, the flexible and functional design solutions.
My preference for the technical characteristics of stainless steel is well known: in this bathroom I wanted to emphasise it even more by choosing the brushed finish to focus all the attention on the shapes of the collection rather than on a colour.
The same finish also characterises the Synth mixer in the kitchen.
The project.
This is a small bathroom in which the different functions (washbasin, bathtub, sanitary ware) have been identified on the wall by defining three different types of ceramic tiles.
The wood-effect porcelain stoneware floor warms up an otherwise cold-coloured room.
In this context the Corsivo range fits in with its linearity and simplicity, giving character to the project. The formal cleanliness is enhanced by the brightness of brushed steel, which is both technical and elegant.
In several elements of the room (the bathtub, the washbasin) there is a constant: the shape of the furniture starts out straight and then rounds off or moves in a softer way. This is why Corsivo, with its unusual lines, fits into the design, emphasising the volumes and becoming a prominent detail.
The choice of mixers.
Once again, I was able to count on the flexibility of a company that is very careful to meet design needs or unusual requests.
In this bathroom the Corsivo collection is present with the following solutions:
a single lever deck mounted mixer for the washbasin;
a single lever deck mounted mixer for the bidet;
a control plate for the toilet;
coordinated water jet for the toilet;
a bespoke composition for the bath area.
The latter, in particular, was designed in close collaboration with Mina’s technical team, who were able to provide a technical solution that responded perfectly to my request.
In fact, the bathroom was designed to accommodate a bathtub, but I initially envisaged the possibility of removing it at some point in the future to fit a shower. When you replace the bathtub with a shower you generally have to work on the wall to change the taps, raising them or changing the supply points. In this case I anticipated future problems, making the bathtub and shower independent: on the edge of the bathtub I installed a single lever mixer with its spout, while on the wall I requested a thermostatic mixer that gives water to the hand shower installed on an slide bar shower.
In this way I have an additional advantage that proves to be very useful in everyday life: the possibility of filling the bathtub by opening both mixers and taking half the time.
Lastly, the opportunity to coordinate the control plate and the water jet makes it possible to limit the quantity of metal or material elements, helping to emphasise the desired aesthetic coherence of the design.
